Llanion Cove Sailing

It was the last day of the trip, I felt sad but was looking forward to sailing on a boat in water. The start of the day was okay, but the breakfast was the same as yesterday, beans on toast. The crust was ROCK solid!

After that, we stayed in our dormitories to pack our bags. We had a full hour to pack our bags and Luke did it in a flash!  Then, we started to gather around in the stone circle to know about the activities we were doing. Most people knew what we were doing (somehow) but some people didn’t. We got in our groups and we were going Sailing . The instructors name was Sam and we headed down to the water where all the equipment is. The most annoying thing was that you have to put on a wet suit and those things are a nightmare to put on! We walked to the changing rooms and put on our wet suits on. But that wasn’t the only thing we had to put on we also had to put on a thin called bouncy jacket, I had no clue what this thing was. At least, it was easier to put on than a wet suit.

The instructor Sam showed us the boats and we had to get in a group of 3 in each boat. I got in a group with Tom from Tavernspite and Tom from Templeton. We took our boats into the water and hopped in. I was steering first and the others were paddling. We were playing tag in the water using a football and we were it! We were allowed to tag people once we got to a certain point in the water. We kept on getting sucked onto the shallow part and I kept on having to go out of the boat to push the boat out of the shallow area. I swapped with steering into paddling because Tom kept shouting at me for being a bad sailor. The steering part was quite relaxed but tom kept on shouting at me. I didn’t know if there was another way to control the steering! We eventually got to the point and were able to tag some people. Our first sight that was closest to us were Ellie, Megan and Caitlin I wasn’t very sure though. We were able to tag them by throwing the ball at them, but then we got sucked in again and Tom from Templeton pushed us back out. It was quite funny when the team we tagged dropped the ball in the water and they took quite long just to get it. We kept on going away from the taggers but they eventually got the ball and started to come for us! They successfully catched up with us and threw it at us but then we just threw it back at them and it bounced off in the water and off we went to run away! We ran away, then just chilled for a bit  but then we got sucked in again! Someone had to get out and I think that was me. After a bit, Sam helped a lot of people out of the shallow are because they were stuck and then it was the end. He got us all in his boat and tied all of the other boats with string or rope. We went back to land in his fast automatic boat and it started to rain. It was horrible! I felt cold, tired and couldn’t move my legs. We got of the boat and i felt terrible I ran after putting my boat back. I couldn’t wait until we got in the changing rooms and got in the shower. It was so hot! It felt life saving and i could literally stand under the shower for the rest of my life (that would be a bit stupid though). I got into my normal clothes. But, this wasn’t the end of the activity. There was this other game after the sailing (I forgot what it was called) but it was fun. It was to test your balance and what you have to do is put weight of your foot on something and lie back. I think it was sailing but the sailing we did i think was kayaking. I got the record of 1 minute and 36 seconds. The sailing was a lot like canoeing just with a steering part to it. Finally it was the end, Sailing was my favourite activity.
